Simple to use, all our traffic lights, pedestrian systems, CCTV and VMS, undergo regular, stringent testing and maintenance for complete reliability.
SRL Offer
- Regular and routine inspections to customer equipment and services to trailers available on a six weekly or six monthly basis.
- Charging stations available on request on a free hire basis.
- Smart trackers/monitors that verifies the status of the signals (if they’re cycling or stuck on red), their location and battery voltage *requires subscription.
Battery Exchange
As part of our commitment to you, we offer a full battery exchange service on all hire systems, whether it is a simple 2way or a more complex multiphase traffic and pedestrian system.
We recommend that batteries are exchanged every seven days to ensure optimum performance. We have day and night shift personnel dedicated to support this task, working seven days a week to support our customers. Weekly battery exchange also allows us to complete a full system health check simultaneously, for your complete peace of mind.
With more than 30,000 batteries in stock across our 30 depots, we continue to invest in the support of your operational requirements.
Call Outs
SRL employ a team of highly knowledgeable field operatives who are available 24/7 to provide phone support in the first instance and if required to attend sites in person with a full range of spare parts to get the system back up and running fast. Our operatives are experienced in traffic light systems, pedestrian systems, CCTV systems and variable message signs (VMS).
Whether you need a system repair, site re-configure, site audit, emergency battery exchange, system move we are never more than 2 hours away. With more than £1m of spare parts held in our 30 nationwide hire division depots, we are committed to keeping our systems running.

Installation
We take every measure to ensure a quick and easy set up, and that starts with product maintenance. Every signal SRL supply for hire has been serviced, configured, checked and tested before deployment.
Our depot teams will configure solutions for you if required and our comprehensive fleet enables us to deliver promptly. On arrival at site, working with the TM provider, we’ll start by setting out and running up the signals and setting the timing. Our kit is simple to use, tried and tested, and we’ll work with you to ensure your team understand how to work with our products.
Before commissioning is completed, our team will perform a Site Acceptance Test to ensure all the signals and detection systems are working correctly, in compliance with agreed specifications. We test lamps, detectors, and push buttons, set timings and watch the signals cycle before we set to a live configuration.
On-site Support
To enable us to deliver a comprehensive support service, we continually invest in our team to ensure product and technical knowledge is maintained. Site operatives are trained for SLG, CSCS, B+E, whilst many have also achieved Level 5- Supervisor, Highways Passport and NVQ driving qualifications.
Our site operatives have the capabilities to: plan & prepare for the installation and maintenance of highway electrical systems and equipment, install, connect inspect and test all equipment, identify and correct faults and carry out emergency work.
